I first tried Sputnik coffee at their roaster / cafe on 51st. A nice little place with a super friendly staff. I had a cold brew coffee that day and was sold, I waked out with a few bags of coffee as well. Fortunately, living in Chicago there are a hand full of local roasters doing a some great work. However, Sputnik has won me over and I now keep the cupboard consistently stocked with bags from them.

The combination of price, quality beans, perfectly consistent roast is hard to compete with. Even though I live relatively close to the cafe, I still order online, as the web ordering is extremely easy. They ship the same day, and the bags I received have always been roasted the day I ordered. What else could you ask for?!

I also want to give a big thanks to Vova from Sputnik for helping me dial in my cold brew. I have been making cold brew for years, playing with variations in the recipe. I noticed on their blog, that they offer a recipe for how they make cold brew for farmer's markets. So I tried it out. It is now my go to recipe for cold brew. Sputnik has a customer for life.

At this point I want sputnik to expand a bit. If they had a couple single origin options I would get those for hot coffee and stick to the blend for coldbrew. Extremely happy with what they offer though.

This is the only coffee I buy, so dang yummy in my daily lattes! I originally bought at a store but looked for a website and found that I can get fresher beans straight from Sputnik. 💜

I purchased my first bag of Sputnik coffee at a vintage store in Ottawa, lll because I like supporting small & local coffees roasters and well the bag was just adorable. I ground some beans the next morning was pleasantly surprised surprised by the first cup. It’s a mellow, bright medium happy coffee that’s not too dark and definitely not acidic or bitter. It’s a coffee you crave when you just want an well roasted and uncomplicated good cup, a crowd pleaser that friends and family will enjoy after dinner and compliment and ask what brand. It’s been my daily coffee for the past year now - both pour over and drip. If you’re in Bridgeport, pay the shop a visit and grab a pour over for a treat.

I liked Sputnik coffee. I found it to have mild taste. They ground it perfectly for my Keurig brewer. I will be ordering more.
