I’ve spent the last 5 years looking for a medium roast that I can use for drip coffee, and after trying something like 20 different blends I can say that Sputnik is the best I’ve had. It’s not too light as to make it taste too fruity or weak, and it’s not so dark as to make me gag when I drink it without sugar and milk (see any Starbucks blend ever). And you can actually buy the decaf as whole beans which is awesome! And the decaf tastes the same! This development alone has allowed me to start drinking coffee at night which is a devilish delight. Nevertheless, Sputnik is the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth, and I recommend you put it in yours too.

I drink Sputnik every morning, and I am admittedly very particular about coffee, and about how to prepare it. I grind it fresh. I use a Kailta pour-over filter and system. Water at 205 degrees, using a Fellow kettle. A ratio of 15.5:1. Sputnik is consistently delicious, balanced and satisfying. I recently have started drinking Sputnik decaf when the afternoon urge arises. It too is good; though not as good as the regular, and so I am still searching for the optimum decaf. I love supporting this local roaster, and when ordered online, the product arrives within days of roasting, which is another delightful aspect of drinking Sputnik.

It must be good coffee if I’m willing to grind the beans every night to have my coffee ready when I wake up the next morning. Robust, full bodied flavor without bitterness.
